Paleo Mayonnaise

Paleo Mayonnaise: A Delicious Blend of Ingredients

paleo mayonnaise

When you cook Paleo style foods, you will enjoy a unique blend of ingredients that will tempt and tantalize your taste buds. Many people are unaware of this unique style of cooking, but it truly is an exotic blend of flavors and savory ingredients.

Many are under the false impression that Paleo cooking is bad for your health, but this is not true at all. The reason they feel this way is the fact that many Paleo recipes are made from the fat of the animal it is associated with. This includes such recipes as beefonnaise or baconnaise, which are both made from the fat of beef and pork.

Paleo Mayonnaise Recipe

There are a variety of different Paleo mayonnaise recipes that you can try if you want something new and exciting to feed your family. You can use either a blender or you can whisk this mayonnaise recipe by hand, whichever you prefer. Give the following recipe a whirl for a new treat at the dinner table tonight:

Ingredients for basic Paleo mayonnaise:

  • ½ a cup of olive oil
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 teaspoons of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard (optional)

The Steps:

Your first step is to blend the two egg yolks. You can do this by hand with a whisk or use a blender for easier mixing. If using mustard, add it into the egg yolks and blend a bit more. Once this is sufficiently blended, then add the 1 teaspoon of the lemon juice. With your blender on low speed, mix these ingredients together completely. After it is completely mixed, start adding the ½ cup of olive very slowly. It is important to drip the oil in slowly, because you are creating an emulsion. If the oil is added too quickly, it will be nearly impossible to save your mayonnaise recipe. In fact adding the oil in drop by drop is the preferred method.

Mix these ingredients together non-stop with your blender or whisk. If you need to stabilize the bowl, place a towel underneath it for better traction. As you begin to add more of the olive oil, the Paleo mayonnaise will begin to thicken. Once it starts to thicken up, then you can begin to add in the oil at a faster pace. When the final oil is incorporated and the mayonnaise is thickened to your liking, then you can add the remaining 2 teaspoons of lemon juice.

Add a dash of salt and pepper and then take a taste of this delicious and healthy recipe you have created. Your palate will be delighted! Making delicious Paleo mayonnaise is as simple as that, and you will enjoy having a new condiment to try out on your family and friends.
